摘　　要：To the Editor:Uremic pruritus is a common and distressing complication that affects>65% of patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis(MHD).The intensity of uremic pruritus is associated with depression,impaired sleep,reduced quality of life,and increased mortality in MHD patients;however,the pathogenesis of uremic pruritus is poorly,understood and no effective treatments currently exist.
