摘　　要：功能语法是系统功能语言学的核心组成部分,以功能为基础、以意义为导向是功能语法理论构建的一大特点,也是系统功能语言学理论具有广泛适用性的重要原因。Halliday的功能语法融汇了布拉格学派的语言功能观和伦敦学派的意义观,在理论构建过程中不断向意义推进。语言功能的探索是意义研究的必要前提,社会意义学建立了语言与语境之间的理论联系,使得成熟阶段的功能语法理论呈现出明显的功能语义导向,更全面地反映出人类语言作为社会意义系统的生态特征。Functional Grammar is the essential component of Systematic Functional Linguistics(SFL).Functional Grammar has been growing in a functional-based and meaning-oriented fashion,which endows SFL with great potential in the wide-ranged application.Halliday set out to develop Functional Grammar by combining the functional approach to linguistic study from Prague School and the meaning-oriented view of language from London School,which constantly contributed to its meaning orientation in the theoretical construction hereafter.As a necessary step to building a semantic-oriented grammar theory,the exploration of language functions was in turn facilitated by social semiotics.The latest Functional Grammar is a clear display of the ecological features of human language as a social semiotic system.
