同治四年福建南台天后庙御匾颁赐原因辨析  

An Analysis of the Reason for Awarding an Imperial Plaque to Nantai Tianhou Temple in the Fourth Year of Emperor Tongzhi

摘　　要：根据新发现的档案推断奏请南台天后庙御匾的真正主事人,并非闽浙总督左宗棠,而是时任福建巡抚的徐宗幹。揭示清廷给福州天后宫颁赐御匾的原因,亦非以前分析的“极可能与对台用兵有关”,或是“保佑册封琉球使者”,而是由于福建粮船通过海运平安送抵天津,为京城急需的粮食供应做出了重大贡献。The royal plaque awarded to Nantai Tianhou Temple in the fourth year of Emperor Tongzhi(1865) plays an important role in promoting the belief in Tianhou belief in the southeast coast of China.The archive newly discovered shows that the principal person who proposed to Emperor Tongzhi for the award was not ZUO Zongtan but XU Zonggan.Why the Emperor awarded the imperial plaque to the temple is neither related to the “possible resort to arms against Taiwan” nor “blessing the canonized envoys to Ryukyu”,which is agreed on according to previous analysis.Instead, it is attributed to that the grain ships from Fujian arrive in Tianjin safe and sound by sea, which make significant contributions to the urgent food supply for the capital.
