王献唐日记等文献佐证甲骨文发现新说——再论“王懿荣刘鹗联合发现说”及“刘鹗发现说”

摘　　要：李勇慧博士近年发现王献唐在日记中记载王懿荣甥孙口述“现场目睹甲骨文发现情形”的新史料,具有可靠性、可信性和合理性,并进一步有力佐证了笔者曾提出的“王懿荣刘鹗联合发现甲骨文说”。此一文献纠正了“汐翁文”及相似传说中的种种讹误,应可将长久以来有欠可靠的“吃中药发现甲骨文说”升华为学术信史。另有《盛宣怀档案》、“淮安殷氏日记忆述”、《东方杂志》刊文、“方法敛书信”等多处来源、相互独立的原始文献,支持“中药发现说”“刘鹗发现说”“刘鹗自序开启甲骨文考释说”。关于刘鹗、罗振玉有可能在出版著作中隐瞒甲骨文发现真相的动机和原因,可从境遇、出身、学力三方面做出情理分析和逻辑推测。建议相关学术界对此件王献唐记载文献及时作出学术鉴定、达成共识并写入甲骨文发现学术史;同时建议将“王懿荣刘鹗联合发现甲骨文说”及相关新说议题,作为中国近现代学术史研究的系列新课题立项进行论辩论证,以求尽早、尽可能解决百年以来留存于这些极具国际影响的学术史领域中的重大悬案疑题。In recent years,Dr.Li Yonghui discovered that Wang Xiantang had recorded in his diary a new historical material to the effect that Wang Yirong’s grandnephew“witnessed the discovery of oracle bone inscriptions on the spot”.This new histori-cal material is believed to be reliable,credible and reasonable,which further corroborates the present author’s view that“Wang Yirong and Liu E jointly discovered the oracle bone inscriptions.”This piece of literature serves to rectify various erroneous con-ceptions regarding oracle bone discovery such as those in the writings of Xi Weng(汐翁)and others,and thus it is time that the once disputed proposition of“oracle bone discovery through taking medicine”was elevated and rolled into academic history.However,original documents from multiple sources and independent of one another such asShengXuanhuaiArchives,“recollec-tions from the diary of someone surnamed Yin”,articles published inDongfangZazhi(TheEasternMiscellany),“correspon-dence of Frank H.Chalfant”,et cetera,seem to endorse the“Traditional Chinese Medicine Discovery Proposition”,the“Liu E Discovery Proposition”,and the“Proposition of Liu E’s preface heralding the start of the study of oracle bones and the oracle bone script”in what was acclaimed as the first book of rubbings of the oracle bone inscriptions.Regarding the motives and rea-sons for Liu E and Luo Zhenyu to have likely concealed the truth about the discovery of oracle bone inscriptions in their published works,rational analysis and logical speculation can be made from the three aspects of their circumstances,backgrounds and aca-demic ability.It is recommended that relevant scholars make timely academic appraisal of the documents recorded by Wang Xian-tang to reach a consensus and write them into the academic history of the discovery of oracle bone inscriptions.At the same time,it is suggested that the“theory of the joint discovery of oracle bone inscriptions by Wang Yirong and Liu E”and related new theo-ries should en
