摘　　要：《八月之光》在某种意义上呈现出福克纳借美国南方故事重构创世神话的写作倾向,并对创世后人类的文化身份进行了构想。“我是谁?”成为莉娜和乔·克里斯默斯一生追寻的目标,其寻找答案的超越为个体主体身份建构或身份转变的标志性事件,这一事件亦成为创世神话被重构后的言说对象,“约克纳帕塔法县”则成为故事人物活动的“伊甸园”。In a sense,Lights of August presents Faulkner's writing tendency to reconstruct the Creation Myth through the stories of the American South,and to conceive of the cultural identity of post-creation human beings.Lena and Joe Krismus attempt to answer who I am and both experience the landmark event of the identity construction or transformation,and they both become the object of speech after the reconstruction of the Creation Myth,while Yorknapatafa County becomes the"Garden of Eden"for the characters in the story.
