摘 要:Saffron(Crocus sativus)is a perennial herb that is primarily found in the Mediterranean region of Europe,western Asia,and the Kashmir region of India.The dried stigmas of the plant have been utilized as a spice,flavoring,and dyeing agent for over a millennium.The main constitutes of saffron stigma responsible for major pharmacological effects are considered to be carotenoids(crocins,crocetins)and monoterpenes(picrocrocin,safranal).
