摘　　要：With the development of maritime military science and technology,the important strategic position of the EEZ began to emerge,increasing conflict between the need to preserve the sovereignty of coastal states in the EEZ and growing military activities.However,the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea’s vague provisions on military activities in the EEZ have led to enduring controversies over military activities.The maritime powers,led by the United States,assert that coastal states do not have the right to govern military surveying activities in their EEZ.This view contradicts the view of the vast number of developing coastal states represented by China.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the nature,boundaries,and legality of military activities in the EEZ and identify issues related to U.S.military survey activities in China’s EEZ from the perspective of international law.
