传统历史编纂学在近代的变易与传承——兼论中西方历史编纂学体系的异同

摘　　要：传统历史编纂学具备一套成熟的理论和实践体系,这一体系在近代发生巨大变易。其基本走向并非照搬西方经验,而是不断根据国家和民族的现实需求作出调整。经世目标的变化,决定着历史编纂呈现出何种面貌。中国历史编纂学在应对外来挑战时,既有选择地吸收了能推进自身发展的内容,又坚定不移地继承和发扬了优良的传统。这不是一场取代与被取代的单向运动,而是两大史学体系的碰撞与融合。长期平行发展的中西方史学,终于在近代有了大范围的交集,也正是这种交集,让双方各自的优势显现了出来。西方近代史学对中国影响较大,但中国古代史学在世界上占有更重要的地位,具有突出的优越性。无论从宏观还是微观视角加以考察,历史编纂学恰恰是中国古代史学优于西方之处。Traditional historiography has a set of mature theory and practice system,which has changed greatly in modern times.Its basic trend is not to copy the western experience,but to make adjustments according to the actual needs of the country and nation.The change of historical goals determines the appearance of historiography.In response to external challenges,Chinese historiography has not only selectively absorbed the contents that can promote its own development,but also unswervingly inherited and carried forward its fine traditions.This is not a unidirectional movement of replacing and being replaced,but the collision and fusion of two historical systems.The Chinese and Western historiography,which had been developing in parallel for a long time,finally had a large scope of intersection in modern times,and it was this intersection that made their respective advantages emerge.Modern Western historiography has great influence on China,but ancient Chinese historiography occupies a more important position in the world and has outstanding superiority.Whether viewed from macro or micro perspective,historiography is precisely the advantage of ancient Chinese historiography over western historiography.
