摘  要:Medium-sized nitrogen heterocycles,including eightmembered lactams,are important in synthetic and pharmaceutical chemistry because of their presence in a variety of natural products and drug molecules.Previous attempts at synthesis using a direct headto-tail cyclization strategy suffered from competitive self-cyclization and oligomerization of dipolar species.Herein,we propose an alternative strategy.
