摘  要:立德树人是高校教育的根本任务。“英语国家概况”作为高校英语专业的一门语言文化类基础课程,旨在提高学生的跨文化能力,培养学生的家国情怀和国际视野。以时事热点为切入点,探讨“英语国家概况”课程如何把思政元素润物细无声地融入专业知识中。研究发现,思政元素的有机融入不仅能增强学生对课程内容的理解,而且可提高学生的批判性思维能力,跨文化能力,增强学生的文化认同、文化自信以及人文素养。The fundamental task of higher education is to foster virtue of college students. As a basic course of language and culture for English majors, A Guide to English-Speaking Countries aims at promoting students’ cross-cultural competence, cultivating their sense of national identity and broadening their international vision. Taking current affairs and hot issues as topics of discussions, this paper hereby researches on how to integrate ideological and political elements into the course A Guide to English-Speaking Countries.It comes to the conclusion that integration of ideological and political elements could not only promote students’ understanding of both the contents of the course, but also help improve students’ critical thinking and cross-cultural awareness. What’s more, it also enhances students’ cultural identity, cultural confidence,and humanistic qualities.
