Bladder outlet obstruction(BOO)are important causes of changes in bladder tissue, including changes in physiological function and bladder structure. In the past,it was believed that the main reason for the changes in the bladder was that the mechanical pressure triggered the activation of a series of molecular pathways due to the increase of bladder internal pressure, which ultimately led to changes in bladder function and structure.Recent studies have found that oxidative stress caused by insufficient bladder blood supply and hypoxia plays an important role in the change of bladder function and structure, and the link is supported by the change of biomarkers of oxidative stress in BOO animal model. This article mainly introduces a series of molecular mechanisms that oxidative stress causes changes in bladder function in a series of developments after BOO,and systematically recognizes the role of oxidative stress in BOO,providing clues for subsequent research.
