摘　　要：《区域经济学(第二版)》一书,强调了以地区竞争力为核心的经济发展理论。该书认为,经济活动空间聚集和多元要素空间相互邻近形成以聚集经济为主要特征的地区竞争优势,这种竞争优势推动区域发展。研究区域发展,就是要寻找和揭示这些决定地区竞争力的因素及其作用途径的过程。这种主张,对加快我国欠发达地区的经济发展,缩小区际发展差距,实现区域协调发展具有重要的借鉴意义。The book Regional Economics(Second Edition)emphasizes a theory of economic development centered on territorial competitiveness.It argues that spatial concentration of economic activities and spatial proximity of diversified elements form a regional competitive advantage mainly characterized by the agglomeration economy,which drives regional development.The study of regional development is the process of finding and revealing these factors that determine regional competitiveness and the ways in which they act.This proposition has important implications for accelerating the economic development of underdeveloped areas in our country,narrowing the inter-regional development gap,and achieving regional coordinated development.
