“按揭”之“揭”与“曷”“桀”声字之词源义“高”发微

摘　　要：“按揭”不是外来词而是方言词,用“揭”来构词,不仅因为“揭”有“借贷”义,还因为“揭”与“曷”“桀”声字为一组同源词,有“高”义。“按揭”应释作“抵押物品而高息借贷/贷款”,可纠正辞书释义之不当。Anjie(按揭)is a dialect word rather than a loanword,which is constructed by jie(揭).Not only because jie(揭)has the meaning of“borrowing”,but also jie(揭)and the characters with phonetic elements he(曷)and jie(桀)are cognate words with the meaning of gao(高,high).Therefore,anjie(按揭)should be interpreted as“high interest loan for mortgaged goods”,which can remedy the misinterpretation of the dictionary.
