Angelico is an outstanding and talented painter and one of the core painters of Florence art in the early Renaissance. He has made outstanding contributions to the formation of a new painting ideal in Florence. Angelico was in the trend of "regeneration" and change that broke through the shackles of the Middle Ages in the early Renaissance.Although he was a knowled monk, he was deeply attracted by the new painting methods and concepts brought about by the Renaissance. Taking Giotto and Massacho as the example, he tirelessly studied the perspective law of rediscovery and the Renaissance. Values have a deep study of the new problems and directions brought to art by Brunelleschi and Masaccio. In the trend of great change, Angelico is a brave reformer and promoter, which is fully proof of the Renaissance value and the application of new painting laws shown in a series of religious narratives full of devout beliefs.Throughout Angelico’s life of painting, his painting forms are extremely wide and have typical characteristics of different times. There are exquisite and complex manuscript decorative paintings drawn by him while he working in the Florence manuscript studio, and some are elegant and beautiful Fresco paintings in the monastery painted by someone who became Dominican Order monks. Starting from the European religious painting tradition and the background of Angelico’s era, this paper explores the formation of Angelico’s painting style and its impact on future paintings.
