Ningwu coalfield is a typical coal base with abundant coal associated resources. In order to study the metallogenic regularity of Ga in coal,117 coal samples were collected from No.2 coal seam in Ningwu coalfield. The samples were tested and analyzed by industrial analysis,X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy,X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry and sequential chemical extraction experimental. The results show that the average content of Ga in No.2 coal seam of Ningwu coalfield is 30.93μg/g and slightly enriched. The results of sequential chemical extraction experimental shows that the main occurrence of Ga in coal is residue, accounting for 87%~92%,followed by organic state, accounting for 6%~10%.Based on the correlation analysis of Ga in coal with coal quality and major elements,it is concluded that clay minerals such as kaolinite and boehmite are the main mineral carriers of Ga in coal. The adsorption of clay minerals to Ga is the main reason for Ga enrichment in No.2 coal seam.
