摘　　要：近代中国海关的最大特色,莫过于由外籍海关税务司控制,引入外国的管理制度,因而产生了大量的英文档案。这些档案绝大部分留在中国,但也有相当的部分经不同的途径流出中国,目前以英国保存中国海关档案的数量最多。位于汉口租界的江汉关,长期被外籍税务司控制,当他们撤离中国时,亦带走了他们的个人档案,而这些资料对我们了解江汉关,甚至中国的外交、经济、社会都很有帮助,值得关注。The greatest feature of modern Chinese customs is that it was controlled by the foreign customs administration department and introduced foreign management systems,which resulted in a large number of English files.The vast majority of these files remain in China,but a considerable part of them are exported from China through different channels,of which Britain is the largest.Hankow customs,located in Hankou Concession,has long been under the control of foreign tax authorities.When they left China,they also took their personal files with them.These materials are very helpful for us to understand Hankow customs and even China’s diplomacy,economy and society,and deserve our attention.
