The research methods of literature, video observation and mathematical statistics were used to study and analyze the choreography and final performance of competitive gymnastics at the Tokyo Olympics, with the goal of exploring the characteristics of winning the parallel bars title and the future development trend. The study found the following results.(1)Most of the outstanding athletes mounted with hanging moves at high difficulty values to raise the starting score, followed by transition with hanging and shiri type moves at Group D and Group E difficulty values. For dismounts, all of them chose two forward circles with 180° turn.(2)There is uneven development of the four move groups of the parallel bars event, Group I and Group III moves are the choice of most athletes, Group II moves with higher difficulty value are less used. Dismount with two forward circles with 180° turn, at a difficulty value of Group F, is the major dismount move.(3)The structure of athletes’ sets of moves is mainly from Group D and Group E, and is developing towards Group F and Group G. Increasing difficulty is always the constant pursuit of athletes.(4)The difficulty of sets of moves is the basis of winning, and the high quality of execution is the key. To win the title, both “high difficulty and high quality” are necessary.
