摘  要:《献给爱米丽的一朵玫瑰花》是美国“南方文学”代表作家福克纳的经典之作。细读文本,不难发现这篇短篇小说中存在着被凝视与反凝视的叙事方式,凝视者“我们”与被凝视者爱米丽则构成了小说的主体。可以说,爱米丽的一生是被凝视的过程,她不仅作为欲望的投射对象被南方社会的主体“我们”凝视,还被作为南方贵族权威的父亲建构自我,从而永远失去自我。虽然她有对凝视进行反抗,最终却是失败的,永远禁锢在南方社会的文明之中,成为一朵被社会全方位凝视的凋零的玫瑰花。A Rose for Emily is a classic work of Faulkner, a representative writer of American Southern literature. After a close reading of the text, it is not difficult to find that there are narration modes of being gazed and anti-gazing in this short story, and the gazer we and the gazed Emily constitute the main body of the novel. It can be said that Emily’s life was a process of being gazed at. She was not only gazed at by we, the subject of the southern society, as the projection object of desire, but also constructed herself as the father of the aristocratic authority in the South, thus losing herself forever. Although she resisted the gaze, she finally failed, forever shackled in the civilization of the southern society, and became a withered rose gazed at by the society in all directions.
