摘　　要：本文以20世纪80年代新西部史学派问世以来发表的美国西部小说为研究对象,提出这一文类对西部神话的三种亚类型——边疆神话、花园神话、牛仔神话——的改写,意在书写多声部的西部史,修正白人男性中心主义式的“大历史”观。这种历史修正起着对抗白人社会文化霸权的作用,表达了赋权“他者”阐释历史的政治愿景。由此,当代美国西部小说不仅参与了“诗”“史”之间的跨学科互动,还丰富了该文类的文化政治功能。Studying Western American novels that were published along with the birth of the school of New Western history since the 1980s,this paper argues that this genre,by rewriting three subgenres in the myth of the West—the myth of the frontier,the myth of the Garden and the cowboy myth—aims to write multi-vocal Western histories and revise the white male-centered view on“History”.Such a historical revision plays a role in resisting the cultural hegemony of the white society and expresses the political vision of endowing the“Other”with the right to interpret history.In doing so,contemporary Western American novels not only partake in interdisciplinary interactions between“poetry”and“history”,but also expand their cultural and political functions.
