“物”的乌有乡——威廉·莫里斯的“物”思想与19世纪博物馆文化

摘　　要：本文以威廉·莫里斯的个人经历与小说《乌有乡消息》为基础,结合当代博物馆学的相关理论,分析莫里斯寄寓在博物馆“物”之上的乌托邦理想,以期揭示其博物馆观中的超前意识。莫里斯“物”思想的形成与其参与、审视、反思19世纪英国博物馆文化运动密切相关,表现在物人关系的转变、物的伦理性困境与物的生态转向三个层面,而这些层面又可追溯到莫里斯一直以来对资本主义和工业社会的憎恶与批判。Based on his personal experience and News from Nowhere,this paper analyzes William Morris’utopian ideal embodied in“objects”from the perspective of contemporary museology,in order to explore his insightful concepts of museum.Morris’thoughts on“objects”are closely related to how he participated in,reviewed,and reflected on cultural movements in British museums of the 19th century,which are mainly shown in the transition of the relationship between“objects”and human beings,ethical dilemma and ecological turn of“objects”.These three aspects can be traced to Morris’invariable resentment and criticism towards capitalism and industrialization.
