摘　　要：拉丁裔美国公民同盟(the League of United Latin American Citizens,LULAC)是美国最古老的、最重要的拉丁裔非政府组织之一。同盟的宗旨是维护美国宪法所赋予墨西哥裔公民的平等权利。同盟在提升墨西哥裔公民的教育水平,反抗种族隔离与歧视,影响美国政府对墨西哥裔的移民政策方面发挥了重要作用。同盟在发展中还形成了多个特点,即实行同化策略、坚持保守主义政治立场、代表墨西哥裔精英阶层利益。由于美国政府缺乏对墨西哥裔移民的连贯政策、墨西哥裔内部分歧严重等原因,也让同盟的同化策略陷入困境。The League of United Latin American Citizens(LULAC)is one of the oldest and most important Latino non-governmental organizations in the United States,whose purpose is to protect the equal rights granted to American citizens of Mexican descent by the US Constitution.The League has played an important role in improving the education level of Mexican Americans,fighting against racial segregation and discrimination,and influencing the immigration policy of the US government towards Mexicans.In the course of development,the League has also formed a number of characteristics,namely,adopting a assimilation strategy,adhering to conservative political stance,and representing the interests of the elite Mexican Americans.The lack of coherent policy towards Mexican immigrants by the US government and the serious internal divisions among Mexican Americans have also put the assimilation strategy pursued by the League in dilemma.
