Experiments were carried out on the effects of different fertilization rates on the growth of young forest of Dalbergia cochin-chinensis. The results showed that the highest growth of DBH, tree height, timber volume and crown width of 5-year-old Dalbergia cochin-chinensis was in treatment 3(350 g/plant), which were 7.12 cm, 5.96 m, 0.012 8 m^(3) and 3.20 m respectively, which were 14.1%, 13.96%, 39.13% and 4.58% higher than the average DBH of 6.24 cm, tree height of 5.23 m, timber volume of 0.009 2 m^(3) and crown width of 3.06 m, respectively. The highest comprehensive score obtained by the analytic hierarchy process was treatment 2(250 g/plant), indicating that increasing the amount of fertilizer within a reasonable range could accelerate the growth of young trees, but the amount of fertilizer should be properly controlled due to the large crown width, developed lateral branches and vulnerable to wind damage of Dalbergia cochin-chinensis.
