维多利亚时期英国女性作家笔下的女性典型塑造——基于《简·爱》中的伯莎·梅森形象

摘　　要：伯莎·梅森作为《简·爱》中的一个边缘性人物,在小说中的描写较少且形象可怕,仿佛只是一个用来推动简·爱与罗切斯特之间故事发展的精神失常的工具性人物。但这终不是她原本应有的模样。文章意从被评论家发掘出来的文本典型——伯莎·梅森出发,结合维多利亚时期女性书写的整体生态,浅析维多利亚时期文本中女性典型的塑造历程。Bertha Mason,as a marginal character in Jane Eyre,is rarely and horribly described in the novel,as if she is just a mentally disturbed instrumental character used to promote the development and transformation of the story of Jane Eyre and Rochester.But it isn’t what she is supposed to be.Starting from Bertha Mason,an arche⁃type excavated by critics,and combining the overall ecology of female writing in the Victorian period,this paper intends to briefly analyze the portrayal of female archetypes in the texts of the Victorian period.
