Literature, as a unique way of historical narration, not only reproduces the traumatic memories of war artistically, but also makes them more diverse and more three-dimensional and have a broader space for interpretation. In Japan, during and after the World War II, some conscientious female writers restored wartime memories through personalized narration with female identity and unique female perspective, showed the plight of women brought by the war and strong anti-war consciousness. From the perspective of female writers, by clarifying how individual traumatic experiences are constructed as collective cultural traumatic memories in public spaces, we can reveal traumatic experience of war and self-reconstruction of Japanese female group portraits, as well as their reflection and complaint about the war, and their worries about the living conditions and fate of human beings. Their traumatic writings of war are not simply rewriting history and expressing individual sentimentality and grief, but constantly asking about the cause, trauma and admonition of war in the discourse of women and war, leading the Japanese people to reflect on that crazy collective memory, to awaken people’s awareness of the responsibility of war and maintain the hard-won peace. However, the creations of some female writers still have the limitation of highlighting the victimized position and winning sympathy, which needs to be criticized.
