摘 要:“超越”观念在陈寅恪的思想中处于枢纽地位,贯穿了陈氏的经世思考、道德主张和学术实践。在表述上,它经过了一个从“抽象理想最高之境”到“超越时间地域之理性”的变化,前者更多哲学意味,后者更凸显一种史家立场,但所指并无差异。“超越”观念意味着在尊重历史特殊性和多样性的前提下,对普世性与共通性的追求,它同时强调现象的特殊性和观察者在不同时空与人事间穿梭转换的能力。对它的理解有助于我们深入了解陈寅恪的诸多史学主张。从思想史角度看,“超越”观念与陈寅恪对其时思想界、学术界中某些现象或议题的认知有关,其中最重要的对话对象是社会进化论与价值的“历史化”思潮。The concept of “transcendence” played a pivotal role in Chen Yinke’s thought,running through his practical and moral thoughts and academic practice. In terms of expression,it has undergone a change from “the highest state of abstract ideal” to the “reasoning beyond time and space”. The former was more philosophical,while the latter more historical,with no difference in reference.“Transcendence”means the pursuit of universality under the premise of respecting historical particularity and diversity. It emphasizes the particularity of phenomena and the ability of observers to travel between different times and spaces. The understanding helps us to know better of Chen’s many historical propositions. From the perspective of intellectual history,“transcendence” is related to Chen’s cognition of some phenomena or issues of the thinkers and scholars at that time,among which the most important dialogue object was the social evolutionism and the “historicization” trend of values.
