摘 要:Legume roots can fix atmospheric nitrogen(N2)via symbiotic bacteria of the Rhizobium genus in root nodules. The symbiotic nitrogen fixation(SNF)by rhizobia can fix up to80%of biologically fixed nitrogen in agricultural fields. This ability of legumes makes them environment-friendly crops by reducing the usage of nitrogen fertilizer(Gong et al.,2020).The SNF in legume nodules is a highly energy-demanding process, fueled by plants that supply photoassimilates mainly in the form of sucrose(Udvardi and Poole,2013).
