基于Range的商务英语听说教材的词族等级分布研究

摘　　要：针对近年来国外引进教材存在词汇表缺失的问题,以高校本科商务英语专业听说类课程的原版教材English for Business Communication为例,借助词频分析软件Range对教材录音文本共16 327个形符进行了词族等级分布研究。结果发现,学习者掌握教材1 099个词族才能达到95%词汇覆盖率,掌握1 422个词族才能覆盖教材98%以上的词汇。为了明确和深化课程的词汇教学要求,需要编制教材包含246个词族在内的词汇表、部分专有名词表以及常见的缩略词表,并针对每一层级的高、中、低频词提出教学建议,以提高学习者的商务英语词汇习得水平。Given the lack of word lists in English textbooks imported from abroad in recent years, taking English for Business Communication, an original textbook of listening and speaking courses for undergraduate Business English majors as an example, drew on the word frequency analysis software Range to analyze a total of 16 327 tokens from the recorded texts of the textbook. The results found that learners need to master 1 099 word families to achieve 95% lexical coverage, and 1 422 word families to cover more than 98% lexical coverage in the textbook. In order to clarify and deepen the vocabulary teaching requirements of the course, it is necessary to compile a word list including 246 words families, some proper nouns, and common abbreviations in the textbook. Furthermore, some pedagogical recommendations are proposed regarding high-, medium-, and low-frequency words at each baseword list so as to enhance the vocabulary acquisition of learners of business English.
