摘　　要：高校图书馆提供社会服务,既是我国在构建社会知识文化体系中对高校提出的要求,也是高校充分参与地方发展、发挥专业优势、提高影响力的有效途径。美国高校图书馆社会服务体系成熟,其实践经验具有重要的参考价值。利用文献阅读法、网络调研法、实地访谈法对美国哈佛大学图书馆社会服务开展深入研究,从社会服务概念界定、服务对象、多元服务举措、创新实践模式等方面探讨其对国内高校图书馆开展社会服务的经验启示。The provision of social service by university libraries is not only a requirement for universities in the construction of social knowledge and cultural system, but also an effective way for universities to fully participate in local development, give full play to their professional value and improve their influence.The social service system of universities in America is mature, and its practical experience has great reference value.This article conducts an in-depth research on the social service of Harvard University Library by means of document reading, network research and field interview, and discusses its experience and inspirations on the social services of domestic university libraries from the aspects of the definition of the concept of social services, service objects, diversified service initiatives, and innovative practice models.
