摘  要:对“新清史”的批评和讨论,无疑是近年来中国学术界的一个热门话题。不论在中国,还是在西方,都有人热烈地支持或者激烈地反对“新清史”的种种观点,它已成为中西学术之间一场持久的争议,而其争议点早已超越了清史研究的范围,有时甚至超越了学术研究的范畴。本文尝试从学术专业出发,参与这场对“新清史”的学术讨论,试图就“新清史”所提出的几个关键问题,即何为中国、何为内亚、什么是大清帝国的内亚性质、什么是菩萨皇帝、何以清史研究需要利用满文文献等问题进行讨论,来说明“新清史”何以成为中西学术之间的一个战场及其出路问题。The criticism and discussion of the “New Qing History” has undoubtedly been one of the important topics in Chinese academic circles in recent years. No matter in China or in the West, there are people who enthusiastically support or oppose the views of the “New Qing History”;both sides hold their own opinions, and sometimes may even engage in bitter debates with each other over the topic. Many criticisms and controversies regarding the “New Qing History” increasingly appear to serve as nothing more than a springboard through which theorists can present whatever arguments they wish for. Many of the issues involved within the “New Qing History” are related to Tibetan and Tibetan Buddhist studies. Therefore, the author of this paper borrows this controversial topic of the “New Qing History” as others have done in order to present his understandings on certain key issues regarding China, Inner Asia, the Bodhisattva Emperor, Manchu texts, and so on. Through the discussion of these issues, the author attempts to explain why the “New Qing History” has become a battlefield between Chinese and Western academics, and what is its way out.
