“弦则为减”新释  

New Interpretation of "Xian Ze Wei Jian"

摘　　要：一直以来,学者们对《金匮要略》中记载的“弦则为减,减则为寒”中“减”字的含义争议不断,大部分医家持“不足”之观点。笔者通过考证文献中“减”字用例,并联系原文上下语境认为,“减”字为“缄”之借字,“缄”本义为绳索,引申为捆束,引申为封藏,收敛。“缄”在此可形容弦脉的脉象特征,其收敛秘固义,正与弦脉“状如弓弦,按之不移”的特点相符合。For a long time,scholars have been controversy over the meaning of"Jian"in theory that"Xian Ze Wei Jian,Jian Ze Wei Han",in which most doctors hold the view of"being insufficient".By examining the use cases of the word"Jian(减)"in the literature,and in connection with the context of the original text,the author believes that the word"Jian(减)"is borrowed from the word"Jian(缄)".The original meaning of"缄"is rope,and by extension it means binding,or storing,or restraining.Therefore,"Jian(缄)"can be described here as the characteristics of the string pulse,and its convergence is just in line with the characteristics of the string pulse"shaping like a bowstring without elasticity".
