摘　　要：周生烈本姓唐,因被外养“周氏”而改复姓周生,生平始末不详,大致生活于汉末至曹魏黄初前后。虽以“学而不禄”的征士著称,周生烈晚年却出任魏博士、侍中等官职。作为历注经传的儒宗之一,周生烈著述当颇丰,然有详细记载的《敦煌实录》《晋中经簿》等皆亡佚,目前能确定的只有《周生子要论》(又称《周生子》《周生烈子》)、《论语周生氏义说》《春秋左氏传注》三书,虽今存吉光片羽,然皆可宝也。周生烈一生以解经著书为务,尤其面对汉末溃乱哀苦的局面,以期著书立说来拯救时弊。在当时背景下,他的思想主张并未引起广泛重视,著述也主要在关陇一带流传,然其人其书在整个中国古代经学史和思想史上却有不容忽视的地位和价值。Zhousheng Lie was a famous scholar of Confucian learning who lived from the late Eastern Han dynasty to the Three Kingdoms period when he lived in the state of Wei.Zhousheng Lie’s original surname was Tang,which he later changed to the two-character Zhousheng because he was brought up by his mother’s family,the Zhou clan.He at first refused to serve as an official,though in his later years he did serve in the Cao government as boshi,a teacher in the highest institution of education called the Taixue,and shizhong,a type of minister.Zhousheng Lie wrote many books on Confucian philosophy as well as annotations of the Confucian classics,although except for ZhoushengLiezi,Zhousheng’s Commentaries on the Analects of Confucius and Commentaries on the Zuo Zhuan,all of his other works have been lost to history.Zhousheng Lie devoted his whole life to studying the Confucian classics and writing books,hoping that his efforts might help to solve the social problems caused by the chaos that ensued at the end of the Han dynasty.His ideas did not attract the attention required to attain this goal,however,and the influence of his works was confined mainly to the Guanlong region that lies on the central Shaanxi plain and part of eastern Gansu province.In spite of this,Zhousheng Lie and his works enjoy an important position in the research history of ancient Chinese classical texts,and in the ideological history of China.
