摘　　要：《八月之光》作为诺贝尔文学奖得主、美国南方作家代表威廉·福克纳构建的约克纳帕塔法体系的重要版图之一,着重书写了跨种族结合诞下的混血儿克里斯默斯的人生境遇。福克纳以克里斯默斯被种族共同体拒斥与驱逐后转而对跨种族共同体进行个人寻踪作为主线之一,展现了其对构筑跨种族共同体的美好希冀。然而福克纳通过描写这一跨种族共同体最终因主体之间联结的断裂以及死亡而导致的崩解,揭示出其意图构筑的跨种族共同体的乌托邦性,其中内含了福克纳对美国南方社会根深蒂固的种族矛盾关系问题以及白人至上主义的批判,但也寄寓了对未来多元社会各种族和谐共生的希冀。As a great work of"Yoknapatawpha geneaolgy"constructed by William Faulkner,winner of Nobel Prize in literature and representative of South American writers,Light in August focuses on the life of Christmas,a mixed-race child born of an interracial union.Christmas'personal search for interracial community after the rejection and expulsion from the racial community is one of the major plot lines,showing Faulkner's hope for construction of an cross-racial community.However,by depicting the ultimate collapse of this cross-racial community due to the breakage of the community and death of its leading characters,Faulkner reveals the utopian nature of the cross-racial community he intends to build,which implies not only his criticism of the deep-rooted racial conflicts and white supremacy in the American South,but his good wishes for harmonious coexistence of various races in a pluralistic society in the future.
