摘 要:本研究考察不同信息组块的工作记忆容量,探讨工作记忆容量与二语阅读能力的关系,并基于此设计信息组块策略并实证其应用有效性。工作记忆容量通过阅读广度测试中受试对不同阅读信息组块的记忆正确率来测量,二语阅读能力通过英语阅读水平测试成绩进行衡量,信息组块策略对提高二语阅读能力的作用则通过教学实验来评估。研究发现:随着不同信息组块所包含的字母数、音节数和单词数的增加,工作记忆容量所包含的组块数呈下降趋势,而其所包含的记忆信息量则呈上升趋势;信息组块在提高二语阅读效率方面发挥了重要作用,信息组块策略的使用能显著提高学习者的二语阅读能力。This study investigates working memory capacity of different information chunks, explores the relationship between working memory capacity and L2 reading ability, designs the information chunking strategy, and then empirically studies its role in improving L2 reading ability. Working memory capacity is measured by the memory accuracy of different reading information chunks in the reading span test. L2 reading ability is measured by the scores of English reading proficiency test. The role of the information chunking strategy in improving English reading ability is evaluated through the experiments. It is found that, with the increase of the number of letters, syllables and words in different types of information chunks, the number of chunks in working memory capacity decreases, while the amount of information it contains increases;information chunking plays an important role in improving L2 reading efficiency, and the use of the information chunking strategy can significantly improve learners’ L2 reading ability.
