中央研究院首届聘任评议员选举补正——兼探张其昀当选气象学科评议员

摘　　要：新发现的首届中央研究院评议会聘任评议员时的60位候选人资料,可以补充选举过程中一些细节,诸如某些学科选举看重学术成就(如化学、动物学),某些学科注重学界地位(如物理学、地质学);还可以探究当日各门科学发展情状,诸如物理学、地质学、生物学人才辈出,工程学、天文学和气象学乏善可陈。结合1948年首届中央研究院院士资料,也可以分析这些候选人学术发展与学术地位的演变。至于人文地理学出身的张其昀当选气象学科评议员,他的老师竺可桢有“推举之功”,可能也与当时以总干事丁文江为首的中央研究院学人们欲加强与政府关系的考虑有关,显现了学术与政治的纠葛。The newly discovered archives of the 60 candidates for the first Council Members of the Academia Sinica can add some details to our knowledge of the election.For example,the election of those from certain disciplines,such as chemistry and zoology,emphasizes academic achievement,while that of some other disciplines,such as physics and geology,focuses on academic status.These files give us an insight into the development of multiple disciplines at that time.For example,physics,geology,and biology received a large number of talents while engineering,astronomy,and meteorology had far fewer.Combining the first academicians of the Academia Sinica in 1948,it is also possible to analyze the academic development of these candidates and the evolution of their academic status.As for Zhang Qiyun(张其昀),he was a human geographer,but was elected as member for meteorology partly because of his teacher Coching Chu(竺可桢)s recommendation.His election may also be related to the political consideration of the Academia Sinica,headed by Director V.K.Ting(丁文江),who wanted to strengthen the relationship between the Academia Sinica and the government,highlighting political involvement in academia.
