摘 要:本文从我国国别区域研究与英语语言文学学科身份拓展之间的关系入手,探讨国别区域研究在英语专业、英语语言文学专业知识体系、人才培养、科研创新、社会服务及智库建设等方面的作用。区域国别学交叉学科的设立为外语院校英语语言文学相关学科的发展带来了契机。通过搭建多元互补的学科发展平台,英语语言文学可深化自身学科知识体系创新,改革人才培养模式,推动基于语言而又超越语言的学科身份拓展,形成文学、语言学、跨文化研究、翻译学、国别区域研究之间彼此交叉的复合型学科形态。This paper,which starts with the evolving relationship between area studies and the disciplinary development of English language and literature in China,explores the role of area studies in the expansion of knowledge system,talent cultivation,research innovation,social service,and thinktank building in undergraduate English majors and postgraduate English language and literature discipline.The establishment of the inter-discipline of area studies will create opportunities for the relevant disciplines and majors in English education in foreign languages universities and colleges to participate in the development of the disciplinary agenda of area studies.By building a mutually complementary and multidimensional platform,English language and literature will deepen its knowledge system innovation and reform talent cultivation approaches to promote the construction of an inter-disciplinary identity of English language and literature in China which is based on and goes beyond language teaching by crossing the disciplinary boundaries among literature,linguistics,cross-cultural studies,translation studies,and area studies.
