清代广州行商伍秉鉴与早期中美关系  

Hong-Merchant Wu Bingjian in Canton of Qing Dynasty and the Early Sino-American Relations

摘　　要：早期美国来华商人同广州十三行行商交往密切,他们的交往成为19世纪中美关系形成的力证。怡和行伍秉鉴作为十三行行商,同早期来华美商交往最为密切。美国著名洋行帕金斯洋行、旗昌洋行皆与伍秉鉴有联系,早期美商在华贸易也大多受到他的影响。清代广州贸易时期,伍秉鉴积极同美国人构建了庞大的国际贸易网络,他与美国人的个人合作成为中美民间商人研究的范本。行商与美商的交往对早期中美关系的发展起到一定的塑形作用。The early American businessmen in China interacted closely with the merchants of the Thirteen Hongs in Canton,whose interaction became a strong evidence of the formation of Sino-American relations in the nineteenth century.As one of the merchants in the Thirteen Hongs,Wu Bingqian,a Hong-merchant in“Yihe Hong”,had the closest relationship with the early American businessmen in China.The famous American foreign firms“Perkins&Co.”and“Russell&Co.”were all associated with Wu Bingjian,and most of the early American trades in China were also influenced by him.During the Canton trade period in Qing Dynasty,Wu Bingjian actively worked with the Americans to build a vast international trade network,and his personal cooperation with Americans became a model for the study of private businessmen in China and the United States,from which it can be seen that the interactions between Hong-merchants and American businessmen played a certain shaping role in the early development of Sino-American relations.
