Gaze and Oppositional Gaze in By the Light of My Father's Smile

摘　　要：作为一种政治性行为,凝视常见于两性关系中。对此,艾丽丝·沃克的小说《父亲的微笑之光》构筑并刻画了黑人父权文化下的规训性凝视机制。文章从福柯权力视域下的“规训性凝视”和胡克斯黑人女权主义视域下的“反凝视”入手,既展现黑人女性内化父权凝视,亦展现这些女性借助“反凝视”策略跳出权力视线的俘获。以此为基础,沃克进一步重塑了凝视,消解了男/女二元对立,表达了对两性和平共处的关切与企盼。Gaze as a political behavior is frequently witnessed in the bisexual relationship.Alice Walker builds and limns the mechanism of discipline gaze in the black patriarchal society in her novel By the Light of My Father s Smile.Based on Foucault s discipline gaze and Hooks s oppositional gaze in terms of black feminism,the paper shows that the black women not only internalize the patriarchal gaze but also manage to jump out of the male s power by virtue of the oppositional gaze.Based on these patterns,Walker reshapes the gaze and dissolves the gender binary,further demonstrating her concerns and bright vision of a harmonious bisexual relationship.
