Objective Explore the impact of changes in the living environment on the health of pregnant women and newborns during the COVID-19 epidemic and to reveal the indirect impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on the delivery outcomes of pregnant women. Methods The pregnancy outcome between pregnant women who gave birth to singletons and live births in Haidian District Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January to September 2020 and pregnant women who gave birth to singletons and live births in the same hospital from January to September 2017,2018 and 2019 were compared. Results The cesarean section rate in January to March 2020 was higher than that before the epidemic, and this difference was not found in April to June and July to September. The proportion of pregnant women who demanded painless delivery increased from January to March,April to June and July to September 2020 compared with the same period before the epidemic. In April to June and July to September 2020,compared with the same period three years before the epidemic, the birth weight of newborns decreased, and there was no statistical difference between the birth weight of newborns in January to March before and after the epidemic. There was no statistical difference in the incidence of premature birth, low birth weight and macrosomia between before and after the epidemic. Conclusion The change of living environment during the COVID-19 epidemic had limited impact on the delivery outcome of non-infected pregnant women, except for the increase of cesarean section rate.
