摘　　要：毛姆是20世纪最受欢迎的英国作家之一,他以西方视角观照东方世界,写作了大量富有东方气息的文学作品。这些作品展现了西方世界在文学、艺术、文化和社会活动中充斥的对东方世界的种族、性别、阶级和价值观偏见,揭示了西方殖民对东方世界的影响,批判了西方殖民社会对东方的凝视和想象。本文旨在通过解读毛姆笔下不同时期作品的东方主义话语叙事和东方书写,分析毛姆小说中东方观的不断变化及其成因。Maugham was one of the most popular English writers in the 20th century.He viewed the Eastern world from a western perspective and wrote a large number of literary works with Oriental perspective.These works show that the prejudice of race,gender,class and values were full of the literary writing,artistic works and cultural and social activities.These works also reveal the influence of Western colonization on the Eastern world and criticizes the Western colonial society’s gaze and imagination on the East.This paper aims to analyze the constant changes of Maugham’s Oriental view in his novels and its causes by interpreting the Orientalist discourse narration and Oriental writing in his works of different periods.
