论《斯纳通》的萨特式存在主义倾向

摘　　要：美国作家约翰·威廉斯的作品《斯通纳》中主人公斯通纳的世界充满荒诞,但他从未向命运低头,而是以一种积极的态度进行自我探索,继而承担其应尽的责任。这与萨特存在主义理论中的“世界荒诞,人生孤独”“自由选择”“承担责任”观相契合。本文从存在主义视角出发,对斯通纳这一人物形象进行解读,探讨这一人物形象背后的哲学意蕴,进而探知斯通纳这一虚构的形象给越来越多的人带来的启示:自由选择与承担责任并不相悖,在“荒诞世界”中亦应追寻个人价值。The world of the protagonist Stoner in American writer John Williams’work Stoner was full of absurdity,but he never bowed to fate.Instead he explored himself with a positive attitude and assumed his due responsibility.This is consistent with Sartre’s existentialism theory of“world absurdity,life loneliness”,“free choice”and“responsibility taking”.From the perspective of existentialism,we interpreted the image of Stoner,discussed the philosophical implication behind the image,and further explored the enlightenment that the fictional image of Stoner brought to more and more people:free choice and responsibility taking were not contradictory,and personal value should also be pursued in the“absurd world”.
