摘　　要：将中国茶置于英国18世纪初期的大背景之下,着重分析18世纪初期英国诗人纳厄姆·泰特和彼得·莫特克斯的茶诗,探讨18世纪初期中国茶与英国社会、经济和政体之间的关联,旨在揭示18世纪初期的英国文学是如何将中国茶塑造为一种能够促进英国文明社会建构、振兴英国经济、改善英国政体的神奇之叶,进而为理解当下中英文化交流提供启示。By situating this ancient leaf from China in the broad backdrop of the early eighteenth-century England,this article,with its focus on the tea poems of Nahum Tate and Peter Motteux,tries to explore the relationship between Chinese tea and English society,economy,and politics for the purpose of revealing how tea was presented as a leaf of wonders that helped civilize the English society,invigorate the English economy and heal the English politics in the early eighteenth-century England as well as providing insights into the understanding of contemporary Sino-Anglo exchanges.
