Psoriasis is a common inflammatory skin disease caused by the interaction of multiple genetic and environmental risk factors.Patients with psoriasis have a higher prevalence of hypertension, insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes, dyslipidaemia and obesity compared to the general population. The metabolic comorbidity of psoriasis affects the severity of the disease, reduces the quality of life of patients and even leads to a shorter life expectancy.Studies have shown that psoriasis and many metabolic disorders share a common genetic component. This paper reviews and examines the genetic links between hypertension, obesity, dyslipidaemia, diabetes and psoriasis, and analyses the common genetic basis of psoriasis and these four chronic metabolic diseases,in order to provide a basis for the prevention and treatment of psoriasis and metabolic comorbidity and to improve the management of psoriasis.
