试析欧·亨利短篇小说深刻的思想性

摘　　要：欧·亨利是美国十九世纪著名的短篇小说大师、现代短篇小说的创始人之一。其小说善于从细小处观察生活、捕捉人性特征,以奇巧的构思,幽默风趣地展现他的创作思想。文章以《我们选择的道路》《汽车等待的时候》《证券经纪人的浪漫故事》《警察与赞美诗》《二十年后》《麦琪的礼物》等经典短篇小说对其丰富而深刻的思想内涵进行阐释,以期为深入挖掘欧·亨利短篇小说精髓提供借鉴。O.Henry was a famous American short story master in the 19th century and one of the founders of the modern short story.His novels are good at observing life from a small point of view,capturing the characteristics of human nature,and showing his creative thoughts with ingenious conception and humor.This article uses classic short stories such as The Roads We Take,While the Auto Waits,The Romance of a Busy Broker,The Cop and the Anthem,After Twenty Years and The Gift of the Magi to explain the rich and profound ideological connotation of O.Henry’s short stories,so as to provide references for exploring the essence of O.Henry’s short stories.
