任意性与象似性非对称性否定问题再探

摘　　要：任意性是结构主义语言学研究的基本前提。认知语言学的象似性等概念的引进引发了国内学者对任意性这一前提的批判,形成对“根本前提”的错误认识。错误的理解造成语言研究的逻辑矛盾重重,不能自洽,必须予以澄清。将任意性分为两解:一是否定能指和所指之间映照关系的任意性;二是否定能指和所指之间存在理据性关系的任意性,分别与理据性和象似性形成两对矛盾概念。研究认为理据性在能指和所指的二分关系中处于任意性的下位。因而,试图通过支持理据性来挑战任意性的想法逻辑上行不通。Arbitrariness is the basic premise of the study of structuralist linguistics.The introduction of iconicity and other concepts in cognitive linguistics has led to the criticism of arbitrariness by domestic scholars and the formation of a wrong understanding of the“fundamental premise”.The wrong understanding has caused many logical contradictions in language research,which cannot be self-consistent and must be clarified.The arbitrariness can be divided into two kinds:one is the arbitrariness of the reflection relation between the negative signifier and the signified;the second is the arbitrariness exists in the relationship of motivation between the negative signifier and the signified,which forms two pairs of contradictory concepts with motivation and iconicity respectively.In the dichotomy between signifier and signified,motivation is considered to be the lower position to arbitrariness.Thus,the idea of trying to challenge arbitrariness by supporting motivation does not work logically.
