摘　　要：苏州礼堂位于风景秀丽的苏州阳澄湖畔,地处音昱水中天住宅休闲中心,为该社区居民提供了一个心灵的避风港。相较于一般宗教建筑设计的针对性,苏州礼堂以普世包容的“灵性”精神为内核,使这种精神在东西方文化中均可被理解。设计沿用了宗教建筑的经典策略--流线的控制、光影的交叠、空间的对比,以及令人愉悦和惊奇的元素等。礼堂因此成为社区居民静心冥思之地,也为气氛轻松的集会和庆典提供了场所。Located along the seenic waterfront of Suzhou's Yangcheng Lake,the project sits at the heart of the Sangha reside ntial and resort developme nt,offeri ng a spiritual haven for its comm unity of local residents.More in elusive than a desig n for a particular religi on or religious practice,the chapel is desig ned with the more universal notion of"spirituality"at its core,a concept that can be understood by Eastern and Western cultures alike.Employing strategies from archetypical religious buildings-the controlled procession,the play of light and shadow,the contrast of spatial proportions,and the element of delight and surprise-the chapel provides the community with a place for quiet contemplation and refuge,as well as for lively gatherings and celebrations.
