摘　　要：Chapter Two In Leaf and Bloom江山如此多娇The village was previously known as Huangmaotian荒茅田,meaning“poor and barren”Later,the villagers renamed it Huamao花茂,meaning“leafy and blooming.”This was the wish of the Huangmaotian people,though they had no idea when it would eventually come true.If you are poor and want to change your situation,you mustfirst have the desire to do so.In other words,in the absence of a keen desire to make a difference,you will remain poor no matter how many years you live.Since it assumed the present name Huamao in 1955,the village has gone through a good sixty years of struggle,transforming poverty into prosperity and writing a soul-stirring epic of Chinese peasants.
