摘　　要：在该书评中,作者突出强调了杰弗里·拉瑟姆的专著对中古英语文学研究做出的重要贡献。该书特别阐明了中古时期语言变化和韵文形式之间的关系,从而成为中古英语文学研究的一座里程碑。In this review,Leonard Neidorf highlights the important contributions to the study of medieval English literature that are made in Geoffrey Russom's monograph.In particular,the book clarifies the relationship between language change and verse form during the Middle Ages,thus constituting a milestone in the study of medieval English literature.
