钟繇姓名音义辨正  

Correcting the Pronunciation and Meaning of Zhong Yao

摘　　要：钟繇,字元常,三国时期魏国人,在政治、书法等方面均享有盛誉。钟繇之名“繇”字的读音有三,通过对“繇”字的不同读音及含义进行辨析,再结合钟繇姓名来源,认为钟繇字元常均与皋陶相关,应读“遥”(yáo)音,钟氏家族的起名特征亦确证了这一点。就地望来看,钟繇故里位于中牟县城前张村钟城遗址,其周围今有东陶、西陶等村。虽“繇”通“陶”,但东陶村等为明代山西移民所建,与钟繇无关。Zhong Yao,courtesy name Yuan Chang,was a man of Wei in The Three Kingdoms period,and enjoyed a reputation in politics,calligraphy and other aspects.There are three pronunciations of Zhong Yao.By analyzing the different pronunciations and meanings of the word“Yao”,and combining with the source of the name of Zhong Yao,we believe that the name and courtesy name of Zhong Yao are related to Gao Yao and should be read as“yao”;and the naming characteristics of the Zhong family also confirmed this point.From the geographical perspective,the hometown of Zhong Yao is located in the Zhong City relics of Chengqianzhang Village,Zhongmu County,surrounded by villages such as Dong Tao and Xi Tao.Although“Yao”is connected with“Tao”,Dongtao Village was built by Shanxi immigrants in the Ming Dynasty,which has nothing to do with Zhong Yao.
