摘 要:西安城市形象的塑造与传播对西安城市发展和现代化建设意义重大.文章选取2018—2022年间我国官方主流英文媒体China Daily Global Edition上关于西安的新闻报道文本作为研究样本进行内容分析,发现我国主流英文媒体在媒介内容生产过程中,倾向于采用宏大叙事和自我言说的方式塑造西安城市形象,在强化了西安作为“历史文化厚重的旅游城市”这一形象的同时,也存在对西安城市现代化发展现状呈现相对较少的情况.本研究建议我国主流英文媒体在西安城市形象内容生产环节,重视和贴近海外受众,从单一维度宏大叙事转向多维立体呈现,重视个人叙事与情感实践,提升西安城市形象塑造与传播能力.The shaping and dissemination of the urban image of Xi’an is of great significance for the development and modernization of Xi’an city.In this article,news reports on Xi’an on the official mainstream English media China Daily Global Edition from 2018 to 2022 were selected as research samples for content analysis.It was found that under the influence of traditional“propaganda”frame,mainstream English media in China tend to use grand narrative and“self speaking”strategies to shape the image of Xi’an city.While strengthening the image of Xi’an as a“tourist city with a rich historical and cultural heritage”,it still lacks a sufficient understanding of the current status of Xi’an’s urban modernization development.This study believes that mainstream English media in China need to effectively break away from the traditional“propaganda”framework in shaping and disseminating the image of Xi’an city,achieve a shift in news reporting from a single dimensional grand narrative to a multi-dimensional presentation,highlight personal narrative and emotional practice,and enhance the ability to shape and disseminate the image of Xi’an city.
