摘　　要：路易丝·厄德里克在现实生活中坚定地支持印第安人。同时,她借助于文学创作支持他们,在文学作品中重访历史,将斯派瑟凶杀案、莱纳德·帕尔帖案等重大历史事件巧妙地隐藏于文学文本深处。她的“北达科他四部曲”关注轰动一时的莱纳德·帕尔帖案,再现了帕尔帖和印第安群体遭受的不公正待遇。该四部曲以帕尔帖为原型,借助于丰富的印第安文化资源,塑造了盖瑞·纳纳普什这样一个跨越边界、行动无常、无所不能、具有超能力的“恶作剧者”。这样的人物塑造让印第安人得以发声,赋予印第安人强大的力量,增强了作品的感染力和艺术性,寄托了厄德里克对帕尔帖重获自由的强烈愿望。重访帕尔帖案体现了厄德里克对历史书写的反思。Louise Erdrich actively supports Native Americans in both real life and in her literary creations as well.In her literary works,she often revisits history,weaving historical incidents like the 1897 Spicer murders and the case of Leonard Peltier into contemporary plotlines.Her North Dakota Tetralogy foregrounds the once sensational case of Leonard Peltier,exposing the unjust treatment of not only Leonard Peltier but all Native Americans.Using Peltier as an archetype and borrowing from rich Native American cultural traditions,Erdrich molds Gerry Nanapush into an omnipotent Chippewa“trickster,”who possesses superpowers,crosses boundaries,and acts capriciously.This characterization gives voice to and empowers Native Americans,enhances the artistic appeal of the tetralogy,and underscores Erdrich's desire for Peltier􀆳s liberation.Revisiting the case of Leonard Peltier exhibits Erdrich􀆳s reflection on historical writing.
